Christians and 2012 end of world thing/Nostradaumus (sp)?
The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
I have seen SO MANY questions abou the end of the world in 2012…………thing is, this “fear” has been around forever….death – end of times (which honestly is not necessarily a bad thing) but I see fanatic Christians posting this and it is because of what Nostradaumus has stated — he is also supposedly a psychic — and CHRISTIANS are not supposed to listen to them AND the Bible does state (no, I am not a scholar) —- we are not to KNOW the end of time…..and again, I must repeat — people have feared the end of time since the beginning of time….so what exactly makes you SO SURE the world is going to end in 2012 — and if you think it is, do you really believe in God? I don’t think so. We are not “supposed” to “believe” in psychics are we???? Not by the Bible. I’m 49 and my brother (8 yrs older than me ) didn’t ever want to have kids because the world was supposed to end WAY BACK THEN TOO…go figure.

Yes there are many phony and fake accusations about the world ending. The only one who truly knows this is God. 2012???? I cannot give you an correct answer on that. I know that psychic that was on the Montel Williams show was saying that the world would end in 90 years from the time she spoke this. She said this about 2001 or 2002. Something like that. There are also authors writing about this kind of thing too. It is kind of scary to think about , but I guess it will be a thing we have to just see on our own. Whether it be dead or alive. I am very uncomfortable talking about this subject because of personal reasons.

no one knows when the end will come.
God said not even Jesus or the angels know when it will be.
After the last ‘seal’ is opened, God will tell Jesus to go get the saved souls and bring them to Heaven….
Ppl start these rumors about the end of time but no one knows….

A man that sat with himself and found some answers. Was he talking to the Jinn that know more than you do and know more than he did. Did he find a gateway to thought process to find a way to understanding what you should not be able to understand. Or was it something more granted as a choice and or a mercy and gift unto him. Do you think anyone was ready for what he told them? He was also said to have predicted his own death. What if anything could have led him in his place of solitude? Why is it that these men in history where tormented and also left mostly helpless and alone for a long period of time to find this information. Do you think that even today if someone like him had come, they would accept him? Everysingle thing that Allah SWT gave to us as a mercy and blessing was refuted and strickened with disbelieve. Why woudl he be any different or anyone else. That is the nature of our history we never believe what is really ment for us to believe and then ask why later. Very ignorant of us humans to constantly question what has been clearly given as a mercy and blessing for knowledge sake.
I never read anything in scripture that was not sent down as a blessing and a mercy for knowledge sake. And if that man sent down to him knowledge from his solitude, and others did the same from their seeking what is it that they talked to then?
If the Jinn live 1000 years and the leader is iblis and he knows things that you don’t, and you can’t see him but he can see you…. well then? What was he talking to, we have to go back and study who he was, what kind of man he was what was going on around him and so on. Everyone has a history and a story left forth. Peace to him he obviously was talking to something.

I think its ridiculous when people try to predict the end of days. I remember when they thought the world would end with Y2K and then last year is was 6-6-2006, Once 2012 comes and goe3s, then we’ll have to predict another end date. (probably 2066 will be the next year)

I’ve wondered this myself. I’ve seen several Christians on this site argue that the world will end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar ends then (what’s this about false gods, etc?). I don’t see the Nostradamus stuff saying 2012 (he says 3797 is the end of the world in his Epistle of the Centuries).
You didn’t ask, but St. Malachy, another “prophet” gave descriptions of all the popes after him (11th Century AD). Only one pope is listed after Benedict XVI: Peter the Roman (after him the “terrible judge will return and judge the living and the dead”).

Please dear. The Mayan’s calender ends in 2012, and you are right we do not listen to psychics. Nostradamus and his malarky quatraines.
God has revealed to no one the time of the end. Or of the second coming. Look what it says on that. Do not believe what others tell you on where or when. WHEN it happens it will be plain and evident to all. Even to those unbelieving.

Amen! I also ask this question to other “Christian” religons who preach when the end of the world is to take place. It says RIGHT IN THE BIBLE we will not know when that is supposed to happen! Not that hard to figure out…

I don’t know when the world will end and no one else does except God. I am a christian and Nostradamus and the mayan calender do not effect my beliefs.
