Could Nostradamus be right in predicting World War III in the near future?
The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
Recently I read a “Sun” tabloid magazine that featured an article about Nostradamus. He predicted that World War III will begin later in 2009 and end in 2012.
Nostradamus was right in predicting World War II and 9/11, but was he actually prophesying a new world war in the making? Are you taking such a future prophecy so seriously?

I think its possible but really unlikely, america wont go into a large scale war at this point, look how opposed we are to the war in iraq, were not going to enter another war for a long time (hopefully)

Nope!
Nostradamus wrote in an archaic poetic form of language, so vague that anyone could take any meaning out of it that they wanted. Notice how most references to Nostradamus’ ‘predictions’ are only made after the event.
Now, how can I use them to pick the right lottery numbers….

Could Nostradamus be right in predicting World War III in the near future?Unless Iran has soon a nuke and we have an Armageddon.I think it is unlikely .Nostradamus has never predicted anything incorrectly because he deliberately left enough ambiguities in his predictions so scholars could interpret them in a manner that conformed with actual events.————————————Nostradamus Code: World War III 2009-2012

Elite group controls global economy; worldwide depression planned (Century VI, Quatrain 41)
The Elite families made their influence and fortunes in the banking and commodities industries, such as gold, oil, copper, tins, etc. This is much like the colonial barons associated with the European world empires who started their families’ fortunes exploiting the materials of the Third World nations. The Elite manipulate the economy to cause the unemployment or inflation rates to rise or fall at their whim. They have affected everyone’s life.
They are “pulling the strings” behind the scenes to manipulate world politics and economies for personal gain. These master puppeteers operate figureheads in many countries, governments, and the major world capitals. They are united but are very clever in disguising their influence. They hold positions that appear to be relatively minor, like advisors and under-secretaries and such, but are key positions of their power.
(Century II, Quatrain 96) In the daytime they appear to be good, loyal, model citizens working for the same goals their governments are supposedly working for, but behind the scenes they band together and pool their information and contacts to work for their own ends. They do not appear to have any political power but they really have a firm grip on world affairs, like sharp teeth sunk into everything. This secret organization has been in existence for several generations. Their existence is hinted in the family histories of the banking powers and money centers of the world. Only the families involved are aware. The leaders has been very slowly but surely building up a worldwide network of power, because they want to take over but stay behind the scenes. Crazed leader launches nuclear bombs on Mediterranean and Europe
(Century II, Quatrains 3 and 4) During a period of continuing unrest, the leader of a Middle Eastern country will be able to obtain a nuclear weapon. He will go to the greatest lengths over the smallest things and will not hesitate to use the weapon because of his obsessions with deadly warfare. The people he is warring against retaliate with a nuclear weapon. The country has a coast on the Mediterranean.
One of the bombs will land in the Mediterranean instead of the land, poisoning all the fish. The passages of trade in the region will be disrupted so that the people on the other coast will be desperate for food and will eat the fish anyway. Nostradamus had the same things available to him then as we have available to us now. The same pots, pans, candle stands, writing utensils, and the paper. The books, the minds, the planets, and the times. Yes, everything is happening just as Michael said, but the thing about it is, you, me, or anybody can do the same thing with better accuracy because we have that much more recorded past.
He just recognized what he found, but we don’t. We argue and argue over and over about what he wrote.
Well, one thing is certain, the past did happen. Nostradamus was another Emmanuel Swedenborg. They both did the same thing in different ways. Pots, pans, candle stands, books, minds, planets, and times.
This is what you should do, look in your history books and see the happenings in the world and especially the political stance of the United States that started WWI. Really, that is the only war that has ever been; it is still going on. Is there going to be a WWIII?
Apparently, it is going on now and the war is not fought with guns and knives, but with inventions and minds.

The thing is he never predicted anything, it is all post rationalization
Did anyone say, before WW II, or 9/11 that he had predicted them? no of course not.
However, I doubt you are as stupid as to repeat anything in the Sun as fact, so you’re either researching something else, or quite a strange person.
Anyone can successfully predict “a new world order in the making”, because it is always true.

The prediction of 9/11 by Nostradamus is a popular email hoax.
This quote was said to be attributed to him…..
“In the City of God there will be a great thunder, Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb”,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning”
- Nostradamus 1654
Some versions add this line…..
“…on the 11 day of the 9 month that…two metal birds would crash into two tall statues…in the new city..and the world will end soon after”
First point is that quote is NOT in the writings of Nostradamus and, the man died in 1566, almost 90 years earlier. It is a complete fabricated hoax.

An overlooked fact about Nostradamus is that much of what he wrote are quotes from the Bible. They are not his Prophesies, but those of the Biblical Prophets.
The truth is that he was able to plagiarize the prophecies of the Bible and get away with it because in those days the Catholic church forbid the reading of the Scriptures except by the clergy.

Those words are out of the Bibles Book of Revelations Chapters 19 and 20
The disasters, predicted by Nostradamus, are the same as those quoted in Psalm 89,33 more than a thousand years earlier.
The battle at Armeggedon (world war three) was described by Ezekiel over a thousand years earlier and merely re-quoted by Nostradamus.
Fact is…. Nostradamus predicted/prophesied nothing…. he just quoted other prophets.
As a educated person who could read and write, he had access to the Bible by way of making copies by hand for the church (printing press not yet invented).
Just google search his name and you will find many many web sites showing that Nostradamus never claimed to be a Prophet. That title was only attributed to him hundreds of years later. He merely requoted the Bible in poetic verse.
So many people either do not know these facts, or conveniently ignore them.
