There won’t be any polar shift in 2012. It’s a lot of made-up nonsense. Nothing will happen. The whole thing is an invention by a bunch of frauds and crackpots trying to get you to buy worthless books and videos. None of it has any basis in real science. The people promoting this have no knowledge of science. They just like to pretend to be knowledgeable in order to impress the gullible. Don’t be one of the gullible.
There is no ‘ancient prediction’ by the Mayans or anyone else. These were all invented in the last 20 years.
There is no ‘mystery planet’ about to pass by. Why don’t the fraudsters tell us its current coordinates? You decide.
There will be no alignment, either planetary or galactic. When was the last alignment that caused us any problems anyway?
There will be no pole shift. A magnetic pole shift is not imminent and probably tens of thousands of years away. A sudden rotational pole shift is a physical impossibility.
The next solar maximum is expected in mid 2013, not 2012 and is expected to be less intense than the last maximum in 2001.
Other predictions such as the photon belt and Terence McKenna’s Timewave Zero are just too silly to bother with.

Sigh…the Mayans(the root of the 2012 fear) did NOT mention anything about polar shifts. This has been added to the propaganda due to the scientific knowledge that the earth is indeed, around 75,000 years overdue a polar shift. It’s simply someone’s possible theory, added to a misinformed – and not in any way factual – ‘prophesy’.
The FACT is that the Mayans had an incredibly detailed and accurate method of measuring the passage of time. As with our New Year, where our calendar changes from Dec 31st to Jan 1st, so too does the Mayans – theirs just takes a very, very long time to get there. 21st Dec 2012 is the date their calendar resets to zero – their proverbial ‘Jan 1st’.
Still, when your time is up, it’s up! No escaping death I’m afraid! Just use this to give yourself the motivation to enjoy life while you have it.

it’s most likely false. Evidence well after a close examination of certain rocks it’s possible to see the that this has happened several times before and rather than happening straight away it takes a long time to do so. if you buy a topographical map… it should (well in New Zealand anyway) have a little thing below or somewhere near the key telling you about magnetic varitation… you should investigate that …. the polar shift is actually really happening now and like all geological things it takes a long time. So the answer to your question. Most likely not. It may have some wierd side effects but nothing we cant handle

I personally think it’s all a bunch of BS. If it does happen though, which I highly doubt, I’m prepared to die.
