We are not very close to the galactic center. The precession is such a slow process and the position of the earth on 12/21/09 will be similar to the position on 12/21/21. Earth will not be passing through the Galactic plane for another

In 2012 we will all realise that there is no need for discovering new technology as almost all technology has been discovered thousands of years ago. Looks like this page could use a bit of air! This upload is great because it goes for the science first and then addresses various other (but not all) sources making the same kind of forecast. It doesn’t even lay blame on the latest version of human nature so much as suggest inroads for our influencing these changes positively (that is, towards more stability for us and the planet).
