Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is a band of stars all around the sky. The Sun completes a circuit of the sky every year. It therefore follows that the Sun will appear in line with the Milky Way twice a year. It last happened on 21st December 2008. Did you notice any cataclysmic events on that day? I thought not.
“Ah!” say the 2012 doommongers. “In 2012 there will be an exact alignment between the Sun, the solstice point and the central plane of the Milky Way”. Err.. actually no. The solstice was in line with the Milky Way’s central plane back in 1998, when nobody had thought of any of this 2012 nonsense. Any cataclysmic events back then? Of course not.
Some 2012 doommongers confuse the aforementioned alignments, which are purely unimportant line-of-sight effects, with the real physical passage of the solar system through the central plane of the Milky Way galaxy. In the course of our 225 million year orbit of the galaxy, we bob up and down a few times, but the next central plane passage won’t be for another 30 million years or so.

The rumors were created by people who wants to make money/ or just scare people by telling stupid prophecies.
They sell books, movies, survival kits, TV shows, ETC.)
People made this up by “saying” (blaming) the Mayans that they said the world would end in 2012. And adding some nonsense scientific facts to this matter.
The researchers and scholars who study Mayans even said “It’s NOT THE END OF THE WORLD”
Adding “We have never found the Mayans saying that the world is even going to change in 2012″
and “People are going to make alot of cash by this fabrication”
I also did some research on the Mayans and ironically, 2012 is a day they’re supposed to CELEBRATE not scream “We’re gonna die”
So just calm down, and do what you’re supposed to do and don’t listen to these stupid things because NO one knows the future except for God, the King of the Universe!,

Nothing. The Earth, Sun and the centre of the Galaxy cannot line up.
This is because the orbit of the Earth round the Sun is tilted in comparison to a line from the centre of the Galaxy to the Sun.
It does get to within several degrees of a straight line, but that happens twice every year, about 21 December and 22 June.
Even if the the Sun, Earth and the centre of the Galaxy did line up, the extra pull of gravity on the Earth would be so small that nobody would notice. This is mostly because the centre of the Galaxy is about 27,000 light years away and gravity depends on the product of the masses of two objects divided by the square of the distance between them. Since the Moon and Sun are far closer to the Earth, by factors of billions, their gravitational effect on us is far, far greater than the rest of the Galaxy.
The other story going the rounds is that the Earth is about to cross the central plane of the Galaxy. This is false. The central plane of the galaxy was arbitrarily defined by astronomers in the late 1950s for convenience, but it is not certain exactly where the real one is. This does not matter if you are only using the definition for measurement. It is similar to having 0 degrees of longitude passing through Greenwich near London. It could have been defined as passing through Paris or Berlin or New York.
While we do not know exactly where the real central plane is, it is known that we are not very near it and we are heading away from it. The estimate is that we will again be near it in maybe 30 million years time. It is also estimated that the earth passed through it about 3 million years ago.
Again, the centre of the Galaxy is so far away that the it’s gravitational pull compared to the Moon and Sun is like a belch in a hurricane. Not worth worrying about.
There are only two facts about 2012. The Mayan long count of days from 3114BC runs out of what the Mayans called “baktun” which are units of 144,000 days. Their counting system was complex and rather awkward when it came to big numbers so they basically stopped the count because they ran out of room for the inscriptions. They attached no prophecy to this, the prophecies were invented recently by various woo-woos and frauds to give then something to write faked up books and make fraudulent videos for the Hysteria Channel and YouTube about.
The other fact is that our Sun will go through an active phase beginning in about 2010. This happens every 11 years in any case, and the coming one is not expected to be much different from the last, though there is some evidence it may be a bit bigger than before. It may peak in 2012, but more likely in 2011. This may disrupt communications or power supplies for minutes or hours, not much more.
All the rest is lies, superstition and delusion.

No, no such thing is ever going to happen. How do you think that somebody could ever predict something like this? It has been proven to be a hoax.
Please stop worrying and I promise you that all of us will live through to the year 2013. The end of the Mayan calender doesn’t mean that the world is going to end. How would they know when the world is supposed to end?
This small little thing that isn’t even real grew and grew and people thought that they could make money by writing books and making documentaries about it, (and it worked). Please don’t get caught up in this hoax, people are cruel they want you to get scared, they want money.

Winter solstice 2012 is just the revealing of the ‘antichrist’ or the ‘man of perdition’ at the mid-point of what Christians call the 7 year Tribulation (just subtract 1260 days to get the start and add 1260 days to get the end). Satanists and many pagan cultures from every corner of the world all throughout history have celebrated this like the Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching (confirmed by Terence McKenna), Mayans (Pacal Votan; Chilam Balam of Tizimin, Mani, Chumayel; Jaguar Prophet), Egyptians, Celts, etc. This evil event is called “the abomination that causes desolation” that will be set up in the Jewish Temple’s Holy of Holies when the antichrist is imbued with the spirit of satan himself. When will Jesus come? Only God Himself knows exactly, but very soon in “the twinkling of an eye” and like “a thief in the night”. If you believe or not, that is up to you; either way it still comes.

on this day i will wake up and eat me some breakfast and take a giant shit. then eat some lunch and take a nap. then drive to town and eat dinner. i will go to bed at about 9 and wake up the next morning and turn on the news and see that hundreds of people are now in mental hospitals because of depression because they were wrong.
