Is it true that world will end by 2012 december 21.? cos there is a polar shift?

Last prediction I heard which was today was by 2100 we will be flooding from melting Ice Caps due to Global Warming…The earliest date I’ve heard is 2052, and that was on some psychic friends network deal…I don’t think it’ll be during our time, though your children’s children may have a problem.

It’s much better to concern yourself with how you live than with how you will die. There are lots of people trying to scare you these days in order to sell you something – a pill or a policy or a war or a politician. Don’t let them do it.

The Mayans didn’t predict the end of the world (their calendar simply reaches the end of a cycle, and the Mayans died out before they needed a calendar for the next cycle). The Bible makes no mention of anything happening in the year 2012. Earth is not going to get hit by a giant planet (if it were, we would have seen it by now). The sun will not line up with the center of the Milky Way (it can’t; the center of the galaxy is in the wrong part of the sky). The earth’s poles will not abruptly reverse (the geographic poles can’t; the magnetic poles can, but it takes thousands of years). The sun will not flare up and poison the earth (it goes through regular 11-year cycles of solar flare activity, and 2012 is just another peak).
The people behind the 2012 hysteria are in it for the money. They sell lots of books and videos to people who don’t know any better. A lot of them were saying the same thing about 2003, and when the earth survived they picked 2012 because of the supposed significance of the Mayan calendar. This gives them a few more years to sell more stuff and make more money.

You have been misled by disinformation. What you speak of are untruths, lies, and hoaxes.
There are no prophesies. If you can find one prophesy to prove me wrong then name it here and now and supply details where it is to be found in a research.
You say “especially” the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar does not anywhere speak of either an end of the world nor any polar shift.
Nowhere in the Bible collection of books does it state that the world will end in 2012 nor does it state in the Bible anywhere that there will ever be a polar shift.
You ask answerers to post their suggestions when all you have posted is a question which has no proofs. No references to research.
You have done nothing more than post parroted gossip of a hoax.
You have no evidence because there exists no evidence.
You are the one who is responsible to provide proof of a “doomsday”. It is not someone else’s duty to provide proof that a random date is not the end of the world. This would not be rational.
Your hoax survives via gullability and a lack of education on the topic. Polar shifts happen on a daily basis.
If you are speaking of a polar magnetic reversal, then there is no evidence that one is to occur in 2012. You certainly have provided none in your question.
Earth’s magnetic field is currently weakening. There is nothing unnatural regarding this. Fluctuations in Earth’s magnetic field happen irregularly and a weakening of the field is not an indicator of a polar magnetic reversal. Although the field strength is currently weakening, it remains ABOVE the average of the past 2000 years. IF the magnetic field were to continue receding at the current rate – and there is absolutely NO indications that it will – THEN a reversal of the magnetic field could be anticipated between the years 3500AD and 4000AD.
A magnetic reversal would have extremely limited effects globally and would in no scenario and under no conditions ever produce a “doomsday” of any type. Unless you consider living without your cellphone for a while doomsday. Then, yes, your world will end.
You have been the victim of a false prophet. Get used to it. It won’t be the last time you hear of the end of the world. It’s one of the best and easiest get-rich-quick scams on the planet.
That’s the science behind your 2012 doomsday.
If you want to buy a book about how to survive a polar shift in 2012 that is your freewill. You could always pass it along to your grandkids as one of the lessons you learned in life.

It is scientifically accepted that this event does occur. As for when, how and the repercussion, it is too hard to say with any level of certainty. It does seam reasonable to expect some disruptions to technology, climate change and seismic activity. As for how much is speculation. Life is still here after experiencing these event in the past so the world will not end.

No, it is not true, and the geographical/rotational poles of the Earth will not shift in 2012. The total magnetic field strength of the Earth has been declining though my 56 year life-time, but the magnetic polarity still has not shifted. The magnetic pole shift will take 10′s to 100′s of years longer.

The Aztecs conquered the Mayans and absorbed the Mayan culture. There are many people with Mayan ancestry alive today, so the Mayans have not died technically. The Catholic Church did its best to wipe out their culture, but some of it still remains today.
All that is going to happen on Dec. 21, 2012 is that the sun will align with the center of Milky Way galaxy on the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere. The dying of plants, the dying of the year, and, in the Mayan long count calendar, the end of the 13th cycle of 13,000 year cycles has a lot of symbolism attached. The Mayan calendar does not end. All that will happen is that the fourth Mayan “world” will die and the fifth Mayan world will be born with the beginning of new cycle of cycles. The Greco-Roman civilization equivalent is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, which happened 41 years ago (??). 13,000 years from 2012, the sun will align with the center of the Milky Way galaxy on the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, as long as the Earth’s orbital parameters remain approximately the same. The only other thing that is predicted to happen in 2012 is that solar activity for solar activity cycle 24 will be at a maximum.

OK. I’ll try to explain a little more. Remember, this is important because it happens at a WINTER SOLSTICE in the northern hemisphere. The Sun will align within 1 degree of the center of the Milky Way Galaxy on a winter solstice as predicted by the Mayans. There is a radio/X-ray star call Sagittarius A*, usually abbreviated Sag A*, at -6 degrees declination on the celestial sphere. Sag A* is not AT the center of the Milky Way galaxy. There is a 30 million solar mass black hole, a dimensional singularity AT the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Anything else AT the center goes down the black hole, which is NOT made of the densest material known. If you want to look toward the center of the Milky Way galaxy, go outside in mid August about half an hour after sunset. Look to the south. The Constellation Sagittarius has a famous asterism known as “The Teapot”. Wait until it almost completely dark and you might be able to see the Milky Way running from Sagittarius through the Summer Triangle of the bright stars Altair in Aquila, Vega in Lyra, (which is straight overhead at sunset in mid-August), and Deneb in Cygnus, which is also known as the Northern Cross.
For the person trying to claim that the sun cannot appear to come close to the center of the Milky Way galaxy because the tilt of the ecliptic plane is 62 or 63 degrees from the equatorial plane of the Milky Way galaxy, you are very mistaken. The ecliptic is defined by the apparent path of the sun through the constellations of the zodiac, Since the constellations of the zodiac are all visible from the Earth, your claim is not valid, because you can actually right at the center of the Milky Way galaxy if you can find the entire asterism of The Teapot in Sagittarius in the northern hemisphere summer. The center of the Milky Way galaxy is at declination -28 degrees 43 minutes 00.0 seconds:

There will be no polar shift in 2012. Polar shifts take thousands of years to take place — they can’t happen in four years.
The Mayan calendar reaches the end of a cycle in 2012 — the Mayans made _no_ predictions about what would happen then. All the other “predictions” have been made to fit the 2012 date after the fact.
The world has existed for four billion years. Is it reasonable to expect that it will come to an end in less than four years? And all because of a Mayan calendar? Use some common sense, rather than being scared.
The most interesting astronomical events in 2012 will be an annular eclipse of the Sun on 2012 May 20, a total eclipse of the Sun on 2012 Nov 13, and a transit of the planet Venus across the face of the Sun on 2012 Jun 06.
Scientists don’t expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, except for the solstice, which happens every year.
None of the “predicted” happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. “Planet X” and “Nibiru” simply don’t exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn’t line up with the galactic centre; it’s 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.
All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don’t take any of it seriously!

20. Nibiru will turn the sun into a supernova
21 Gravity will implode (don’t ask what that’s supposed to mean)

Numbers have nothing to do with astronomical events. Numbers only describe events.

Do you remember the Y2K frenzy? There is however one interesting astronomical phenomenon that will happen on 12/21/2012 when the sun rises on that day, as seen from Central America, it will be in the direction of Sagittarius in the exact center of the galaxy. While the Mayans deserve credit for figuring this out, as well as all the rest of their marvelous astronomy, none of this means their mythology is reality based. In fact they couldn’t even predict their own future of what tomorrow might bring!

Winter solstice- December 21, 2012 – is just the revealing of the ‘antichrist’ or the ‘man of perdition’ at the mid-point of what Christians call the 7 year Tribulation (just subtract 1260 days to get the start and add 1260 days to get the end).
