Is the world going to end in 2012 or Is the Mayan Calendar just going to end and start over?
The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
some people are saying that all life on earth is going to be destroyed and possibly some life is going to survive. On the other hand, people are saying that nothing on earth is going to be destroyed, just the Mayan calendar is going to end and start over. I need some answers because I am VERY worried.

I saw this on some Comedy Central thing; If Mayans knew the end of the world, then how come they couldn’t predict the end of their own civilization? So even if something bad happens, blame it on the May-May-May-May-May-May-Mayans (Pun On Blame It by Jamie Foxx). But most likely it is false. But a philosopher named Nostradamus did predict alot of stuff, such as the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. I do not remember if he predicted a date for the end of the world, but just to prepare, go watch The Day After Tomorrow.

6/6/6 the date was dumb sopposly it was the opposite 9/9/9 but noene is saying about that but anyways
the mayans didnt stop like in didnt want to continue
they were very precise but they stopped at that date cause they were told thats the end of times

yellowstone park is soppose to erupt by then which will cover most of america in cdark clouds and we will not recieve sunshin and we wont have any crops and we will starve

Supposedly in 2012, we’ll be aligning in the center of the Milky Way and the sun or something like that. Something real rare. I think what you have to keep an eye out for is how it’ll effect things on the electromagnetic scale. There’s a lot of unstudied material involved, which is why a bunch of people are saying all sorts of things, but there will supposedly be a change of SOME sort. Electro magnetics affect a lot of things, even though we can’t “see” it. Weather’s one of them, our sense of direction, and even our biological clock (some would say our actual consciousness is effected… hell, it’s how you can detect the presence of ghosts and stuff.. but I won’t get into that).
But yeah, I think like, the Earth’s field is going to flip over (and that it’s long overdue). Keep your eyes peeled, and feel free to read up on what people are saying on the internet. I know that’s a pretty vague and silly thing to say, but some of it’s pretty interesting if you’re already interested in this.

Mayan calendar will end and start over since we will cross the galactic equator.
