Patrick Geryl – Mr 2012 or Mr Crazy?
In his book The Orion Prophecy, Patrick Geryl, sometimes called “Mr 2012″ claims to understand secret information about the process of geomagnetic reversal. Essentialy Mr Geryl asserts that bombardment by the sun will lead to an instant change in the polarization of the magnetic field, thus causing apocalyptic havoc on the planet. While it is true that the magnetic field reverses, the tidal waves and earthquakes he insists will coincide with the event are fantastic in nature. The truth is that the Earth’s magnetic field has reversed dozens of times, including several times in humanity’s past.
Not only does he seem to be anticipating earthquakes and tidal waves along with the magnetic reversal, he asserts that entire continents will shift hundreds of kilometers almost instantly. If any of this is sounding like science fiction, or a recent Roland Emmerich Hollywood Blockbuster, I would not be surprised. The hyperbole used in his text is not uncommon, there are any number of gurus willing to claim that they have “secret insight” of “esoteric knowledge” in the name of turning a profit. The problem arises that when what should be entertainment at the least, and theory at the most, is espoused as irrefutable truth is the very real panic and fear that it can instill in people who do not have a background in geology, physics, or history.

Dear Sir,
We are not crazy but the desastrous geomagnetic reversal is imminent and it is just a matter of time.
How can scientist say no when they cant explain the mechanism behind the phenomenon? We shoul be ashamed that science of 21st century cannot explain at least how Earth is rotating and how a geomagnetic field is created. No scientist neither tools can explore in to the Earth core due to high heat of magma and all about the mid of Earth are just concepts.
New knowledge from outer sources are not welcommed by world knowledge departments and the stock of knowledge remain unimproved.
Multy field specialization creates a non directional growth of knowledge and as a result no forecasting of forth coming disasters, no early warning and ultimately the entire human civilization fall in to a vitim
Geomagnetic reversal is not a mith at all and it may take place at any instant.

Your insistence that “science cannot explain” how the Earth rotates or how the Electro-Magnetic field that envelopes the planet is woefully inaccurate.
Essentially both phenomenon are caused by the molten iron and other ferrous materials that make up the core of our planet. There’s even a theory called Dynamo Theory, which Wikipedia is more than willing to fill you in on(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamo_theory). You can also learn about this amazing theory in any basic college level geology class for that matter.
The real kicker is that you are in fact obviously aware of this theory and have dismissed it despite the fact that your own alternative theory as found in your “Space Dynamics Volume 3″ is guilty of the exact same lack of observable data to the heat and pressure of the core its self.
For those who wonder how geologists come up with this information, they take data from various available samples and rock formations both above and below ground, and then use the data to create a pattern from which they can extrapolate a reasonable guess. Mr Gamage instead proposes a theory that the Earth essentially functions much like a solar power array, except instead of converting solar radiation into electricity, the planet converts solar winds into charged particles which then create a magnetic field that is ultimately the engine of our planet’s rotation. Based on his own documents I’m surprised he’s not more afraid of the Earth’s rotation stopping than he is of magnetic reversal.
While Mr Gamage at least tries to posit alternative theories, that does not change the fact that Mr Geryl opts to believe that aliens left coded messages in lost cities that have been ignored by all but a few of the most intrepid scholars like himself on this subject matter.
Magnetic reversal is not a myth. It is however a process that has observably increasing levels of instability in the magnetic field prior to its reversal. The myth is the argument that we will wake up one day to suddenly find that the magnetic field instantly reversed completely in our sleep.
It is also theorized by accepted scientists that when these reversals occur the ionosphere provides a limited amount of protection until the reversal is complete which is why despite numerous documented extinction level events in Earth’s history, none of them has been solar radiation incinerating everything on the surface.
Your point about specialization in subjects leading to myopic world views is valid, but that is simply not the case when it comes to this wild idea of instant magnetic reversal. I will agree that there should indeed be far more financing for research that will allow us to both predict and react to imminent threats to both specific locations and global issues, however embracing pseudo-science that is ultimately driven by the personal profit motive is not the solution to that problem.
I did take the time to look at your Space Dynamics pieces, but for somebody trying to push the validity of his theory you have very little actual data or evidence of, well, anything you propose. Perhaps that is because you lack the devices necessary to measure “the inner ‘Spherical Vortex’ of charged particles, which could also account for polarization and spinning of the planet.”
In short, I do believe the human species is in danger, but I still cannot fathom how Mr Geryl’s wild fantasies are any more threatening than Orson Wells’ radio broadcast of War of the Worlds.

01. As a matter of fact scientists don’t like to admit that the danger has come afoot without their knowledge. I agree that scientists of the 21st century are cleaver and they are capable of observing formation of a star perhaps millions light years afar. And, as I believe, a mighty global organization on space sciences like NASA, is capable of diverting even an asteroid if it really comes to hit upon the planet. But as we understand the peril is not coming this time from outer space but underfoot while all the measuring tools and sensors are focused to the sky.
Let it be 2012 or some other day for the World’s End and it is not so important but the message behind the Early Warning, has to draw fullest attention of the Global Knowledge Departments or otherwise we could be the cursed lot in future upon the historic Missed Opportunity.
If we prioritize the perils that we have come across to face at present, with an open mind, Geomagnetic Reversal must be the first and secondly, the reason what prevented the so cleaver scientists of the 21st century from forecasting or recognizing the danger of it.
I have emphasized in my previous letter that the real danger is the ‘NDK bomb’, which has already paralyzed the frontal mobility of the Global Human Civilization without leaving a least information about the attack.
Knowledge was directly to make a Living for the prehistoric man and ever since it has been improving to uplift living Standards. There born philosophers and universalists by the next historic era and Knowledge was also inclined towards a better life and destinations by them. only one subject was there as ‘Natural Philosophy’ by the time of Aristotle.
It was the Industrial Age at which Knowledge starts to be branched in different inclinations by name of Development. Today we live in a world where Knowledge is branched in to thousands and one specialized fields as if to say this is the Age of Knowledge. Thousands of specialists are busily engaged in experiments harvesting new knowledge all the time but the turnover is Non Directional and aimless moreover. Prime objective of one subject could perhaps be directly opposite to another and as a result, knowledge is only expanding violently like a bomb but not moving in any direction. Multi Field Specialization without setting of a Global Vision has obviously made this damage and the steady march of the great human civilization came through ages, has obviously come to a stop.
As a matter of fact, a wholesome directive by any government or organization could not be possible today because thousand and one specialists have to be consulted upon that. Coming in to a conclusion with two specialists is always difficult as you know, and how could it be with more?
An outside thinker or an Alien only can notice that trend and fields are so dramatically expanded that Knowledge is accumulating in heavy stocks to go beyond the caring capacity of a healthy human brain. Nobody knows what knowledge is necessary or what is not and our loving kid, who has already sacrificed his joyful childhood upon hell of lot of studies, is the due victim of this Unfiltered Himalayan Heap of Knowledge. I wonder why Environmentalists don’t declare it as ‘Mental Pollution’ because are we not compromising the right of our kids the future generation to have a joyful life?
02. Now let us discuss about the other matter, why we should be more attentive of the early warning behind the message 2012.
There are some people in the world who develop their own conceptual models to forecast future by different ways of deduction and however it is of immense importance if possible to foresee something before it really comes to happen. Scientists of the 21st century too have got to develop their deducting power in brain or otherwise they could only be slaves of Knowledge and tools of the tools that they have made.
Still I daresay, knowledge of the 21st century is not enough to understand the real danger of a geomagnetic reversal. That is mainly due to the uneven summit growth of some specialized branches of knowledge, leaving lots of gaps and voids within.
For an example, can you answer when a kid asks, ‘father, how Gravity attracts things?’ I don’t think any scientist can answer without using the famous terms, ‘Curvature of Space Time’, what nobody could really understand, to be frank. The great scientist Newton has clearly explained almost all of the physical properties of the phenomenon of Gravity but without the ‘Mechanism of Gravity’ and that is why you couldn’t answer the most primary level of a question of a kid.
Similarly revolving of planets round Sun and orbital motion of moons around rotating planets have not yet explained due to absence of the most essential linkage theory of ‘Gravity Deviation’. Can any scientist of the century answer your kid’s questions such as;
1. Father, how these planets revolve around Sun?
2. Father, why they all revolve in the same direction?
3. Father, why those non spinning planets possesses no moons?
Now regarding the issue of ‘Geomagnetic reversal’, I daresay no scientist foresee the real danger in it because only God knows what is going on beyond the magma shell in Earth. Earth is really being grown in size and weight but no realistic explanation about from any of global knowledge departments as yet.
I agree it is a brilliant forward step of scientists to think that, the spinning engine of Earth is a dynamo. But isn’t that a bit contradictory with what we have studied at junior secondary level such as; ‘electrical energy is the output of a dynamo when mechanical energy is fed as the input by rotating it’. Is that the Mechanism of Earth and who is then giving the mechanical energy input to rotate the planet?
But no matter that could be a very simple mistake with terms and let’s identify it as ‘Geo Electric Motor’ and then all goes well. Magnetic field is provided by the permanent magnetic shell in the crust and lets’ say it is well supported by the variable magnetic field in the magma shell too. Now only thing missing for the electric motor to rotate is the flow of charged particles (a current) because conductor too is identified as the body of Earth which is heavily mixed with metals.
Then why don’t we identify the continues flux of charged particles, that is absorbed from solar wind by the atmosphere, as the current required for activation of the geo electro motor?. Fleming’s left hand rule can clearly show then the direction of rotation too.
Things are quite clear as yet but what is the reaction going on at the earth mid core which requires so many electrons (a current)?
And what will happen if our atmosphere fails to absorb the flux of charged particles or if the flow of solar wind towards earth is disturbed by some other reason? Isn’t it the condition for a reversal of the mid core reaction?. Fleming’s rule can simply explain then how polarization too could be reversed without stopping the motor and without changing the direction of rotation as well. But the permanent magnetic field shall not be supported by the variable magnetic field of the magma shell and the resultant field could be weakened but reversed.
The reversal must be instant but the due changes in the reformation globe have to be followed through millions of years.
A magnetic reversal of gradual changes could not be so harmful upon the living global ecosystem and Earth has had several of them in the past. Rotating direction of the planet is not reversed at all but spinning speed could be changed.
Things cannot be taken so simply if it turns to a sudden expansion of the earth core because even spinning and productivity of the planet, could be permanently held up, if it fails to catch hold of the atmosphere at the reversal. The planet Mars which was lost at a magnetic reversal has set the best example for such an unfortunate event in the Solar System.
But my logic is not yet over because I don’t understand how the so cleaver scientists of the 21st century, could follow Fleming’s hand rules in electromagnetism when they cannot explain the mechanism behind the phenomenon. Again it is our kid’s question, “Father,How a mechanical force is created in a current caring conductor when it is placed in a magnetic field?” and can we answer directly without curvatures?

While I may not agree with most of your ideas, I think we do agree on one very important idea. It seems we both believe that it is of critical importance for humanity, as a species, to improve it’s understanding of the nature of our world, how it works, and our place in it if we hope to be able to adapt to whatever events may imperial us in the future. One of my primary goals is to emphasize that there are in fact plenty of very solvable dangers (such as the Near Earth Object project you mentioned which is sadly woefully underfunded) to humanity as a whole. We hear at Year2012EndoftheWorld.com want to focus on the importance of taking a long term view of Humanity’s place in the cosmos while at the same time clearing up the fear mongering that is being fostered in the name of profit and control that is now gathering around the subject of 2012.

I feel ultimately that, I am also in your side and we all have to pay priority upon ‘Earth’ and Geophysical, Geochemical and Geodynamic field explorations as well as the global ecosystem related huminity awrenes raising projects have to be intensified as a need of the era because we don’t find any other planet to shift.
