Year 2012: End of the World

The Mayan calender ends in 2012. The Chinese I Ching predicts the end of the world in 2012. Edgar Cayce also predicted 2012 as a possible end date. This time there are tons of things happening in one year. There is even worry of a polar shift!!!! click below for a scientists article on the matter

The last time we had a date was in 1985 when we had the “Jupiter effect” and that date came and went. Anybody worried?

End of the world many people from around the world predict the end is in 2012 not just now but also in the past.

Normal year nobody knows what could cause it to end the world exactly. so some don’t worry including many scientists.

I get so sick of those, but something in the news got me thinking about the Mayan Calendar again. The Hadron Collider is being prepared to run again in October of this year. The article I read said that it may take a few years to get it fully functioning. A few years equates to roughly 2012? Coincidence?
I know they say the atom smasher is completely safe, but who’s to say for sure it won’t be the Armageddon Machine for us all?

I don’t see why people are freaking out about this “Nostradamus 2012,” Planet X (Nibiru) stuff. One, if the worlds gonna end… IT’S GONNA END. Do you actually think we could even attempt to stop it? I’m Catholic, but even if you’re not, you can’t disagree that if God (or someone who could possibly be as powerful as God, depending on your religious views) wills the end of the world, it’s coming no matter what.
What I’m really getting at though is this Mayan calender stuff. December 21, 2012 is supposedly said to mark the end of the thirteenth B’ak’tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calender. This, being said, is the speculated date the world is going to end. But, chew on this for a moment:

THE MAYAN CALENDER IS REPRESENTED BY A CIRCLE.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but a circle is infinite… there is no end to it. The most this could be is the end of a VERY long year for the Mayans, and their descendants should be flipping out because they have to go buy another 36,000 year calender.

This isn’t really a question, more like a discussion. What’s your take on this?
I used to be scared out of my mind, at the fact that I wouldn’t even hit the legal US drinking age (21) before the world ended. But now that I read more into it, I honestly don’t think it’s going to happen. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t… who knows.
But on December 22, 2012, if we’re still alive, I’m throwing a huge party, and you’re all invited. BYOB (:

picture if you will, the year is 2011, & people are all in a hype over what may or may not happen soon enough. a mix of emotions much like the Y2K scare, except this time it’s supernatual freaks, not goverment conspiracy weirdos. & then when the time comes, & the last days of the mayan calender are counting down, they discover ANOTHER CALENDER! nothing too special, no worlds ending, no new major beginings, just another calender that stars right where the last one left off… ooh, but there’s a catch, it ends in the year 5182. damn.
this is all tongue in cheek, so please take it as so, & don’t mind the spelling, i’m in a rush.
