What is the likelihood of the world ending in 2012?

Question:
I heard it’s when the Mayan calender ends but there are other things I heard too. Supposedly the world will end when there is a war between three major countries that are somewhere in the middle east, north America and pretty much Russia. Obviously you all know that there is already the war in Iraq with America, so what if Russia was added to the mix?
What is the theory about solar flairs, etc. in 2012 and what is the likelihood that they will happen?
