The mayan calenday ends on Dec 21, 2012, but why do people believe this is our doomsday. I can certainly see that over the last few years there has been inconsistent weather patterns, and increasing natural catastophes, which if the 2012 predictions are true, would be the beginning of what is to come. If we are in a “polar shift” like many say we are, which only happens 1 time every 26,000 years, how is that something NOT to worry about. As many of us should know, the mayans were very advanced in the study of astrology, have their predictions been misinterpreted, or is 2012 the real deal, its hard to believe it either way, but it does make sense that natural catastrophes would be a result of this polar shift, also its not wrong to say that its possible for an entire species to be wiped off the map by nature, becuase it has happened before.

I am just curious. It’s not hard to find vitriol postings in YA denouncing the existence of God for lack of evidence. Yet, postings about the end of the world, and the existence of aliens are treated as absolute truths despite the fact that there is even less evidence to support these beliefs. Why is that?

Can someone please provide scientific articles or data or physical proof or a source that shows why please! I also heard that the ‘galactic alignment is supposed to happen in 2100 so which is it? lol’. I am a very open person, but I am also skeptical so please inform me!
