Year 2012: End of the World

If the Maya didn’t expect the end of time in 2012, what exactly did they predict for that year? Nastradamus- Planet x Nibiru- The whole 11:11 and 2012- The I Ching- Polar shift- Hopi indians- The whole galactic alignment and tons of these books,Shows,Movies. Both of these websites are convinsed something will happen in dec 21 2012.
I personally thing something will happen but its not going to be the end of the world. Im as confused as you guys are! Whe all just have to waight and see

And even if it does, why does that matter? I know they were brilliant astronomers, but what does that haave to do with anything?

From what I’ve read, the Mayan calender is based on a complex series of cycles within cycles. The “Long Count” is set to end in december 2012. That calender has to end sometime, right? Why does everyone claim that the Mayan’s marked this as the end of the world, rather than resetting the date to 0 the same we we reset our year to 00, or our time to 00? A lot of this 2012 excitement comes from the date the mayans set, but it looks the the Mayans weren’t even predicting the end of the world (and once again, so what if they were?)
Just to add, I think the end of the world stuff is a load of crap, even more so since it seems to be based on a completely false premise.
I bet that if the mayan calender didn’t end in 2012 no one would see the other destruction theories. Because Nostradamus says very vague things that will probably apply at some point in the rest of history. And because the bible doesn’t come anywhere close to setting an end date.

Raises in number and intensity from earthquakes to Tsunamis to Hurricanes to every other naturally occuring weather related event.
Is all of it because of and proof of the fact that the Earth’s rotation is going to shift in the very near future?
The sun already has changed it’s rotational shift.

It seems to me that the prophecies about 2012 actually predict good things to happen. They talk about great leaps and transformations for humankind.

So why all the fear and anxiety?

All the other stuff, like Peak Oil and Timewave Zero is just stuff that modern people have made up and convienently decided will happen in 2012.

There’s really nothing to worry about.

And the whole idea of a planet on a collision course with Earth was totally discredited years ago.
