Year 2012: End of the World

I’m going on a class trip for my Spanish class to see the 2012 movie. I’m pretty terrified of the end of the world. I’d like to see the theories and all, but is it a bad idea to see the movie if I’m petrified of the end of the world? Is the movie scary, if you’ve seen it?

I have taken two astronomy classes in the University and it intrigues me. I know the Sun orbits the Milky Way and many other basic Astronomy concepts. Anyway according to the 2012 galactic alignment theory havoc will come to the Earth in terms of adverse weather effects. So I want to know, how much of it is true? Can you explain this to me? I’m asking you guys because obviously you guys have more knowledge on the science behind this theory than I do. I should have asked my professor last semester, but I forgot to.

Upon further study of the I’ching, the Mckenna brothers found out that if you apply a Mandelbrot fractal equation to the I’ching, it produces a “timewave” of the human evolutionary process, that reaches it’s apex on dec 22, 2012 (just like the mayan calendar)
