Year 2012: End of the World

Question:
Now I know everyone has different theories about this, but I’m going to tell you guys mine. The mayans’ calender did not say the world would end in 2012, but their predictions only went as far as 2012. They lived a long time ago, and its possible that they didn’t want to look farther than that date.

Science supposedly “confirms” that the sun will enter the center of the universe and the planets will be in alignment. They also said that a polar shift will occur, causing the world to go haywire and eventually be (destroyed I guess?)

Revelations doesn’t say an exact date, but if Nostradamus’s has been right so far, then I might have a little faith in him. I’m a christian, so I don’t truly believe that the rapture or the apocalypse will happen until god is ready. Guess we’ll all have to wait and see! Tell me what you think!

Do you believe that something (as in a disaster or something of that nature) will happen in 2012? Or do you think that it could just speak of an ending of one (how do I say it “phase” maybe?) of the earth and a beginning of a new chapter? I would like to believe that the earth will live on as I am particularly young and would like to experience life a bit more. but perhaps you could tell me a little of the theory’s and which one you put most stock into.
