The Mayan calendar ends 21 Dec 2012. What does this mean to you, and why?

The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
The acient Mayans produced a calendar that ends our year 2012 on December 21st. What do you think this means? Will there be any change in our lives? Apocolyse? A new beggining? Changing planes? Crossing of Nibiru?

Do you believe anything will happen on this date? What do you believe, and why do you believe this?

  1. It means that the Mayans didn’t think that they needed their calendar to go that far ahead.
You wouldn’t buy a calendar for the year 2563 would you? Because you don’t need it.
The Mayans didn’t think they would either.

They probably assumed that someone would’ve made a new calandar that went farther ahead in time by now.

But noone has bothered, because they’d rather freak out about it.

  2. Quetzalcoatl is coming back and you’ll be able to see him real good if you drink enough anahuasca.

they simply didnt think that the world would be here for that long

  4. It means squat. Why didn’t their calendar end when they were conquered by the Spanish?

  5. It means,

    Do your Christmas shopping early.

  6. It means the end of the current age and the beginning of the next.

  7. Maybe i’m wrong, but I think maybe it’s just because they couldn’t count any higher.
