Critically examining the "End of the World"
What exactly is going to happen in 2012?

Question:
I’ve heard and read about all this hype that something is going to happen in 2012, but I’ve heard many different things. One thing I’ve heard is this so called “Galactic Alignment”, and I’ve also heard about the Mayan calender signifying that in 2012 the world is going to be subject to a “consciousness”. What exactly is supposed to happen in 2012? I personally think it’s a hoax, and it’s just been made into a huge panic, and that’s added to by the fact that they’ve also made a movie, 2012. What are your thoughts?

nothing out of the ordinary is going to happen in 20012, i personally think that it is pretty flakey to base all your beliefs about whether the world will end on a carved rock left behind by a dead culture too stupid to invent the wheel or use iron.

I don’t think anything is going to happen. People are just trying to fool us and scare us or whatever…. I highly doubt anything that big will happen within 3 years, lol.

I’ve heard different things to…like it’s going to end on 12/12/2012 and then I also heard its going to end on 12/21/2012…so. I know its when the Mayan calender stops. Don’t quote me on that, I just remember someone telling me that. The Mayans have a slab carving of astronauts on it…or people say they’re astronauts. The world has been said to end over the last thousands and thousands of years and it hasn’t yet, so I guess it’s whatever you believe will happen. I’ve heard of the Glactic alignment as well and something about a meteor hitting that day.

Its said that a comet planet is coming toward Earth and it will be doomsday for all. How do we know this? NOSTRADAMUS. He predicted many horrible things. Like world war 1 and 2 he even predicted a third. He read the bible and the words of followers and such to predict the things. He predicted 911. He was correct many of times but wrong for others. Is it possible that we could have changed it though? On december 21, 2012. the world is supposed to end. At least, he predicted this. I am not quite sure what will happen. But apparently in the bible it states: The Lord will take His True Followers to Heaven before the Start of The Great Tribulation and The Destruction caused by The Comet Planet. “Watch therefore and pray always

Stand before The Son of Man.” How will we know? I still await these years to pass and see for myself. It’s scary thinking that the end is near… and yes, 2012 is based on this, but also the movie knowing is too. But the Mayan calendar is very complicated so we might not actually have the right date. So really when nothing happens and were all calmed down we could just die the next day. The world is coming to an end anyway. Water safe for drinking is low, so much pollution, were destroying our neighbors. The thing we all feared most is a reality, and the only way we can get out of it is by coming together as a planet instead of countries. If the world worked together it is possible to do something like in the movie Wall-E. Take off into space. The thing is though nobody is going to do anything because they didnbelieveve it will really happen until its too late. itsurprisingng how every other century had someone who was this genius thinker. Who do we have. Who is the person that predicts all this stuff and invents something to save us all. Wheres our prophet. My belief is the prophet is just reincarnated, but something happened to ours. And the prophet is the savior that keeps us alive. No prophet, no us. Is it possible that young babies diagnosed with”autism” are but only so smart, that they don’ actually speak with others, but instead are seeing visions of the future, constantly thinking. Everyone has there own opinion but I know nearing the end of the world things will start to finally makes ese and what we thought to be something was really a sign to try and save us that we ignored. Another thing I know is coming is that Mars is going to be coming very close to earth- so close it appears to be the same size as the moon, this will take place towards the end of this august. Could this be a warning? Its your decision.

I’m not a scientist and I don’t think any of you writing here are either. However, I do believe something will happen in 2012. The last time this happened was about 14,000 years ago. Were any of you alive at that time? Or do any of you have relatives who KNOW anyone that lived at those times. I didn’t think so. In other words how is everyone so sure nothing will happen when we have been here for such a short period of time next to what is billions of years for this universe? I do believe that being prepared for whatever may happen is the right way to go about it. I am going to start saving anything I can so in the case something does wipe out all of humanity, I will survive along with the other people who were not ignorant. Eventually to repopulate the earth. I’m half asleep while writing this but I would like for everyone to open their minds, everything is possible. Maybe the decisions we make today will be the difference between the survival of the human race and being able to replicate everything we have now and eventually finding a way to explore the universe in search for other living races, or the end of humanity because people think the world is perfect (which we all know it is not) and we should take everything as a joke. Please think outside the box, that’s what great minds do.

I personally think that the year 2012 will strike havoc, I’ve been researching on the subject and its not just about the Mayan calender the Bible the Hopi Indians etc. Although NOSTRADAMUS play a relatively large part, Nostradamus Predicted many disasters that have already happened. He predict 2012 what makes you think that this won’t happen. Nostradamus would read signs from the stars, these signs would tell him, or help him understand disasters to come. We also have a large part to play in this and so does our government.
WE Humans pollute and have no consideration for the earth at all and because of that, global warming has started and gotten worse causing melting of glaciers and soon to be massive climate change.Which gradually has already started.global warming has a lot of effect on the earth as well as the green house effect. DISASTER TO COME: Massive tidal waves, tsunamis that you cant even compare to the in Indonesia, hurricanes much bigger than Katrina. Earthquake stronger than the one hati and volcanic eruption from both our dead giants and active volcanoes. including mount vasouvious. but in the end what you believe is your to decide.

All of you that is saying that the world is going to end in 2012 should be punished! By the way you are so wrong there is just going to be a new era not the end of time as we know it. Why would time stop because of floods it would just make more than a million people die around the world.
