Critically examining the "End of the World"
What if 2012 Apocalyptic EVENTS actually happened?
The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
What if this time People were wrong and the catastrophic events will take place in December 21, 2012?
like the Biggest Earthquake In recent history that took place in L.A and San Fransisco ?
The Biggest Mountain Volcanic eruption in history in Yellow Stone National Park?
Giant Swarms of Tsunami’s Happened to every continent!! What if the Polar shifts took place?
The Reason why people do not believe in 2012 cause of the Y2K fusses cause just the year 2000 happened ! But the MAYAN CALENDER ENDS IN 2012 !
Nostradamus even thought about the world ending in 2012
Ancient Chinese People even knew something is gonna happen 2012 not 2000
All I know that in 2012 the planets will align with all the planets in one perfect line and also the milky way and the sun will also align this occur will happen in each 26,000 years or so. These are real facts people no False crap right here?
If the Apocalyptic visions of 2012 were true ? What would you do?

I have actually enjoyed reading this…;)

If there was some sort of apocalyptic event in 2012 I suppose I’d respond to it the same way I’d respond to such an event in any year. Survival would become my top priority and I would brace myself for chaos and violent conflict with my fellow humans. If I died in such an event then I wouldn’t be around to do anything now would I?
But still, the ancient Mayan calender did not predict the end of the world. If that’s true then my wall calender predicts the end of the world on December 31st 2010.
And as far as Nostradumbass, he didn’t predict squat. He made a bunch of ambiguous predictions that were bound to come true eventually, depending on how they were interpreted.

I wouldn’t worry about 2012, the apocalypse is not going to happen. On December 21st 2012 the winter solstice will happen.

No, the Mayan calendar shift from the 13th to the 14th b’ak’tun.
Nostradamus never quoted any specific date, with the exception of the 7th month of 1999 (and look: we’re still here!). Not that Nostradamus matters much as that stuff is just bogus.
As for the ancient Chinese: where are your sources?
And given that ancient Chinese means at least 2000 years ago, what technology did they have back then that we don’t now?
The Y2K scare was preceded by a bunch a other end-of-the-world predictions: the last couple of decades, there were an average of 2 or 3 dates for each year!
In 2012 the planets will NOT align, as any interactive planetary simulator (search for them on the web and see for yourself) would show.
If the predictions were true, then we would be annihilated, and there is nothing we could do to prevent it. Well, that is what doomsayers claim, so what the heck, right?
Except that, on the morning of December 22nd, 2012, there are a bunch of people would would most likely feel silly for having swallowed that garbage. That is, unless they are SO silly as to embrace yet another date, and start rehashing the same garbage one more time. As they have done before.

So, you watched another one of those dooms day shows.
The most dangerous “facts” are the ones that are half true.
I don’t use the Mayan calendar.
The one I use end THIS December.
and who said the Mayans had any interest in predicting the end of the world?
Nostradamus wrote lots of stuff but all of it in riddles.
He never named 2012
The Chinese didn’t name 2012 either.
The planets have so little effect on Earth’s tidal forces it would be quite difficult to measure.
Compared to the moon, our own Sun has little effect.
What will I do IF the world ends?
I’ll probably die.
I’m not going to concern myself with it.
Neither should you.

I’m gonna make a prediction of my own. Ready. On December 22, while most of us non-nut jobs are scurrying about making our last minute Christmas purchases, the conspiracy nuts, sorry prophets, are gonna go back to their basements and start “recalculating”. In a couple of years or so, probably the next day really, their gonna start saying that Jesus will return in 2033, two thousand years after the Crucifixion. And on Jan 1, 2034 when we’re all celebrating in Times Square, they’ll go back to their basements, sorry, nice houses that they purchased with all that money they made selling apocalypse books and movies, and start “recalculating” again. Sigh.

If these events happened, mankind’s scientific progress of the past several thousand years would have come to naught. Not to mention that the pure guesses of the theory propagators would have been extremely lucky, as they are not based on any true logic…

finally had to break down and admit the collider wasnt goingto destroy the world today? had to fall back on the MAYANS again? aren’t you tired of crying about the sky falling, chicken-little?

Are you so stubborn that you will listen to the truth yet still grasp for the lies? Is it comforting to believe that “The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012″ when all evidence shows that it does not? That Nostradamus “thought about the world ending in 2012″, a simply unprovable statement, as who knows WHAT that crazy man was thinking about? He certainly didn’t leave behind any writings to that effect.
“Ancient Chinese People”? If you are referring to Terrence McKenna’s Time Wave Zero, you should know that he was a druggie. Can you really trust the ravings of someone addicted to psychedelic drugs?
Ask any astronomer about planetary alignment. None such will occur in 2012.
In fact, your monomaniacal grasp of these lies leads me to the conclusion that you are just pulling our legs… trolling, the kids call it.

Well everyone has there answers but my answer is i seriously don’t know. Most dooms day prediction have never happened so we are very lucky that they haven’t so that we could live another year alive. But the apocalypse in 2012 the Mayan calendar predicts will be the last ever year in this universe of ours. Scientist or completely sure this will happen but nobody not even scientist have evidence. But if these events do really happen we’d hope they’d make a giant boat like on the movie 2012 that will keeps us alive. lol. But the only thing you can do is hope that these events don’t happen. Also as everyone says “We all have to die sometime”
