Critically examining the "End of the World"
Will Doomsday Happen on December 21 2012?
The following is a question being asked on Yahoo Answers. Both the questions and answers given do not reflect the view of our website.
Question:
Cause this is the one everyone is talking about, einstein warns polar shifts, Nostradamus predicts asteroid will hit earth. I just want to make sure if it will happen or it wont happen.

It is unlikely it will happen. We really have no way of knowing.

Yes it will, now go and learn why and how you can save yourself. Otherwise you will die with the billions of others who are totally clueless.

a cruel and cynical hoax, nothing more.
i don’t give a shit who is talking about it, if they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

Einstein died in 1955, so don’t blame him for any of this nonsense. Nostradamus’ predictions are so vague as to be useless.
Scientists don’t expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.
None of the “predicted” happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. “Planet X” and “Nibiru” simply don’t exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn’t line up with the galactic centre; it’s 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.
All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don’t take any of it seriously!

Just cause the Mayan calender ends does not mean that the world will end.I bet I’m gonna get a ton of thumbs because of what i have to say.I support Einstein but not Nostradamus.

No, it won’t happen. This question has been asked here on Y!A dozens of times now.

That was a mis-calculation – it will actually happen on Dec 22, 2012 – at 4:30 in the afternoon.

I’m pretty sure that we as a people are not going to see the end of our days on December 21, 2012. There have been a lot of predictions that people have claimed. There had been a book that had came to the surface of Nostradamus’ just a few years back, and there were predictions of a cycle where the world would end on that date (the life cycle of humans coming to an end), but the markings in the book they concluded were not from him in the end. The drawings were not by his son either, so what i’m thinking is somebody took the time to draw them around after hearing all these speculations, and then quickly made the book surface to scare people. I have yet to hear about his prediction of an asteroid, and even so there has been no news of ones that are bound to hit the earth in that year.
There have been predictions from other people about climate and weather changes, and more natural disasters are going to happen then ever before to conclude the end is coming, and this would be the only prediction that I would be worried about after watching the news and seeing all of the natural disasters are happening. Granted people can’t tell when natural disasters are going to occur, so really this is nothing that you can use to see if the world is going to end.
It has been predicted many times before and has it happened yet? No, look at Y2K for a huge one, people thought all the computers were going to crash, and that was going to be the end of the world, and yet 8 years later we’re still all around. It’s just speculations to get yourself hyped up, so don’t think too much of it.

Why do you people believe this sh!t?
Probably nothing.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

Well no one knows for 100% if it will or will not happen, people can only speculate. But the more prevalent doomsday scenarios for our Earth are the religions of the world (the 2nd coming, beasts, trumpets, etc). And the final, the most talked about, researched, and reason to prepare, December 21 2012. Again most will write this day off claiming either religious quotes or previous doomsday scenarios that have failed. Will it happen on the winter solstice? Yes without a doubt, something will happen physically to the Earth. We can only speculate towards the extent of this, i.e.; Polar reversal (or shift) caused by an object passing close to us, often referred to as Planet X or Nibiru, and the passage through the Dark Rift or Galactic Plane, both these scenarios could happen simultaneously. Super Volcanoes could blanket the stratosphere and create darkness throughout the whole land, fire storms, and acid rain from the effects of the Super Volcano. When the poles shift or reverse, this could cause ice to melt, Tsunamis to follow. Another looks at the full planetary alignment of the year, and Annunuki, God like beings from ancient, destined to return. Again all we have to go on is history, and what we explore through scientific research. We know that 2012 will be extraordinary per NASA, with increased solar activity and sunspot cycles. Sunspot cycles do correlate with regards to effects here on Earth, even the ancients held high regards to these cycles. To point out, this will not be the extinction (hopefully) of mankind, rather a cleansing of the Earth. This is a cyclic pattern prevalent in Earths history, our scientist know the Earth has change many times before without the knowledge of why, again they can only study and speculate.
Some excerpts from religious documents that back this up:
Many earthquakes
Appearance of sinking into the earth, transformation into animals and false-accusations
The three great sinking of the earth
The appearance of smoke in the sky
The rising of the sun in the west (Nibiru or Planet X the brown dwarf)
The beast of the earth [Daabbat ul-Ard] (another quote for a super volcano)
The fire which brings the people together
A wind that will take the souls of all Muslims and only leave infidels on Earth. (solar storms?)
Increase in rain but decrease in produce
Signs, upheavals of the elements, and angels prepare the way for the coming of the Lord, D & C 88: 86-94.
Darkness to cover the earth, (sound like super volcano)D & C 112: 23-24
The sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not cause her light to shine, Isa. 13: 10 (Joel 3: 15; D & C 29: 14).
Great calamities shall precede the Second Coming (of the sun, meaning another planet or brown dwarf?) Matt. 24 (JS-M 1).
The day cometh that shall burn as an oven, Mal. 4: 1 (3 Ne. 25: 1; D & C 133: 64; JS-H 1: 37).
The Nephilim (ancient fallen people) shall speak as a voice from the dust, Isa. 29: 4 (2 Ne. 27).
In the end most people give this day a bad reputation because they are trying to make money and exploit the idea. So there will be many that are not prepared for what is in store for us. I only encourage those to do some research, prepare for this, and try and spread the word to save others.
